EXAMPLE WE LEAD'

Brian is quoted as saying that he is extremely honoured and proud to have made a small contribution to the Corps over two decades from 1958 - 1980. "Many of the personalities named in these memoirs have long since departed this life and some, like myself, are staying ahead of the grim reaper, several of whom I keep I keep in contact with, if only by the exchange of a Christmas card. I thought by mentioning all of their names I have, in some way brought them back to life and given them a small memorial in print."

Ducemus is the motto of the Royal Military Police
Brian Samways served as a Military Policeman in the Corps of Royal Military Police and completed his service as a Warrant Officer in the Special Investigation Branch. He learned the basics of his trade as a young uniformed Military Policeman and later, after being accepted into the Special Investigation Branch, he investigated many cases in diverse parts of the world on behalf of the MoD (Army) - some postings were pleasant and some not so pleasant: from his early days in Paris & Fontanbleau while with Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR), Germany, to Libya, Malta, Honk Kong, Brunei, London & the UK, including Northern Ireland during the recent 'troubles' there, not forgetting some problem solving in Hawaii enroute!
After completing 22 years service in the Royal Military Police, Brian went on to work in senior positions in the UK Security Industry, culminating in his own private security company which he established and manages in the Poole area, Dorset.
Despite the demands of military life the Author met his wife-to-be, became engaged, they married and raised a family. Brian is happily married to his wife, Val, for over fifty years, they have three children and two grandchildren.
